Homebrew Arborer Species Details
The first Arborers came from the elven forests about 200 years ago although it is unkown if they were living among the secretive woodelves for longer than that.
The first recorded sightings of these up to 8 foot tall, lanky trees were in the high elven capital and from there all over the world. Curious and kind they explored finding joy and childlike wonder in everything they came across absorbing knowledge like a sponge only to return to their place in the forest eventually.
As years went on patterns started to emerge. Many people witnessed that years after an Arborer had visited a similar one would come imbued with some of the knowledge the pervious had aquired, eager to build upon it. It seems they are able to pass on knowledge and skills through generations.
Nowadays they often tske on the mantle of the teacher rather than the student. Many seek advice and tutoring and the passing through of an Arborer is widely seen as a blessing. Some even go as far as too build a following around the kind wanderers and accompany them on their travels. - Seren the Seeker on Arborer in her Almanach of Everything
Arborer come in all forms of tree from acacia to zelkova. They are usually between 7 and 8 feet tall. Strong low branches are used as arms. The face sits about the height of the armbranches before the tree splits into the thinner branches of the crown. The crown spreads above and behind the head not so much in front. Could be to not impedevision or to emulate hair. Some walk with thick roots as legs, others slither on smaller roots without lifting of the ground much. Arborers are still effected by seasons like regular trees depending on the species. They are not the most flexible but evolved something akin to a hipjoint that lets them bend down and get up if prone.
