Homebrew Whowie Species Details

"Want some help?" The Half-Orc, shook and exhausted, looks around the rocks and red sand he'd been walking through for days, wondering where that voice came from. "Seriously, I'm right here. Look up." He turned his head to a rocky arch to see an odd creature lazily draped on the overhang, looking at him like it was half asleep. "Who are you, and why do you care about my sorry state?" The Half-Orc bellowed, trying to catch his breath. The creature snickered and responded, "No wondered your tired, you really think you can carry all this stuff on your lonesome? Just be glad someone can help you around here." It dropped itself from the overhang to pick up some boxes from the cart of materials. The creature was about the same size as the Half-Orc, but it looked more akin to a frog-like dragonborn, with a second pair of arms for some reason. "What is your kind? Are you a dragonborn that was just hit with a lot of magic in your life?" The remark from the Half-Orc make the creature burst into laughter, and when it subsided, it responded, "If you think I am a dragonborn you need to get the sand out of your eyes, oh and I'm a Whowie, expect a lot of us around here."

Whowies are known for being free and content, due to living in outback deserts far away from most cities. They usually spend their time helping or hindering people who travel across the desert, as well as burrowing huge underground homes to live in.

Made for the Desert

Whowies are known for coming out of nowhere and assisting merchants and other stock travellers, while also stopping others who have more ill intent from crossing their desert home.  Whowies look like dragonborn but have a frog head and amphibian looking skin. They are also known most for their extra pair of arms, being perfect for climbing and burrowing across the outback, as well as carrying heavy stock. Their height can range from 5 and a half feet to well over 6 feet tall, with their tails only going far enough to just touch the ground, and their weight is around 55 pounds. The colour of Whowie skin can range from an off teal to sandy shades of brown and red, and their eyes are usually yellow or red.

Strong, Silent, and Silly

A usual Whowie would spend their lives just doing their own thing, getting materials to make their burrows more comfy, helping out merchants and occasionally going into cities for things like alcohol and cloth. For the most part, Whowies are light hearted and prefer to not make to much noise. Not to say that they can't be loud or ready fighters, they just don't do that because then foreign races would be terrified of them. The only time where a Whowie would pull off their silly side and actually punch something is if a nearby town of theirs is getting invaded or put in war, as Whowies rely on those towns for external resources and would be more than willing to help. A Whowie who took up adventuring would likely had been picked up by another adventuring party from their assistance to travel the world.
