Homebrew Zereth Species Details

The Zereth are a race of biologically advanced aberrations. They are monstrous in appearance and encompass a wide variety of sub-species that are genetically mutated to be the perfect tools for a gauntlet of tasks, such as infiltration, siege, and kingdom protection. The Zereth actively assimilate other races, taking worthwhile traits that are of interest to the leaders of the Zereth. Their initial purpose was simple: eradicate, adapt and evolve.

Though their original form has been lost through extreme experimentation, their form upon creation resembles that of a Moschorhinus.

Alignment

Most Zereth don't react emotionally the same way as other races, nor do they truly experience fear, awe, or joy. However, some are evolved and self-aware enough that they experience and act on these emotions. The Zereth’s dispassionate ‘survival of the fittest’ philosophy and their virtual immortality make them not as easily as affected as other entities would be, and have highly controlled emotional states. They tend heavily toward True Neutral.

Demonic Regeneration

Demonic regeneration is more than a simple hit point recovery. Every 5 rounds, a Zereth will automatically save vs any disease or poison. In addition, a Zereth can regrow a lost limb that was destroyed 5 minutes after it was destroyed. Finally, Zereth bodies never grow strained or exhausted from extensive damage, as they heal the wear and tear of their bodies. As such, Zereth have no pain threshold and can be subjected to any degree of pain without lasting repercussions.

Zereth Telepathic Link

Zereth can establish a full telepathic link between themselves and one other creature of INT 12 or higher. Upon establishing this link the two can use each other’s senses, see what another is seeing but also feel what the other is feeling. Without being under the command of another, most Zereth that lose their telepathic link become feral. Some rare Zereth have the ability to close off their telepathic link per their own judgment.
