Homebrew Two-Headed Ogre Species Details

Ogres are large, brutish giant-kin who revel in breaking things and eating food. Most ogre tribes are nomadic, and towns often fear their arrival, as it's never clear whether the buildings or food stores will be destroyed first.

Occasionally ogres exhibit odd mutations. Increased intellect, magical prowess, extra limbs, and even sometimes extra heads. These unique ogres can lead tribes to glorious raids or doom them to infighting and failure. Whatever the case may be, important events seem to follow them wherever they go.

Two-Headed Ogre Traits

Two-Headed Ogres exhibit a number of unique traits among their kin.

Size

Ogres are between 8 and 15 feet tall and weigh between 380 and 940 pounds. Your size is Large.

Alignment

Ogre society is brutal and wild. They do what they must to survive and often take pleasure in destruction. These traits push ogres toward chaotic alignments.

Age

Ogre lifespans are difficult to determine, as their nature often leads them to getting killed by sword-happy adventurers and frightened villagers. Ogres reach maturity at around 20 years of age, and are considered elders by their tribes at 50, due to frequent death in battle. An Ogre's natural lifespan is unknown.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Giant.

Ability Score Increase, Body

Your Strength score increases by 1, and your Constitution score increases by 1.

Ability Score Increase, Head

Your secondary head gains +1 to Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma.

Two Heads...

Being a rare two-headed ogre, you are two individuals instead of one. This race can be played by two people.

When creating a two-headed ogre, you may make two sheets for purposes of separate class development. Physical stats must be identical between the two heads, while mental stats may vary. Otherwise the sheets must be identical to show that both characters share a body.

You must choose one head to be the primary, and the other must become the secondary. Each head may pursue a different class, but only the primary head gains access to hit dice, weapon and armor proficiencies, and is responsible for the body's primary movement. The secondary head may move the arm closest to them freely for purposes of casting spells and making attacks, but is otherwise beholden to the primary head's actions.

...One Body

Your unique physiology allows you to share certain benefits despite your varied interests.

Any defensive abilities (such as damage or magical resistance) that would apply to either head also applies to the other, with exception to defensive abilities regarding the mind (such as advantage on INT saves). This ability represents your shared body, but separate consciousnesses.

Natural Athlete

You have proficiency in the Athletics skill.

Powerful Build

You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
