Homebrew Actual Bread Species Details
Bread est pain. Your purpose is to be eaten, yet the innate instinct to preserve your own life exists within you like it does all other living beings. Somehow you gained sentience and an awareness of the world around you, but you don't know how. The breath of life filling you seems to have stopped the process of growing mold and becoming stale as well. Perhaps this is all the result of a cruel god, or perhaps a random anomaly in an uncaring universe. The one thing you do know is that existence begets suffering.
Still, despite the miracle of your mind, you're physically just bread. You can't move. However, over time your awareness has spread to sensing the world around you without eyes or ears, and you can communicate through telepathy.
You're bread, so your size is tiny. A loaf, dinner roll, baguette or what have you. Your shape and appearance has no effect on your abilities, because you are simply bread.
Recommended classes are limited to spell casters as you are physically incapable of melee.
Actual Bread Traits
A delectible little loaf.Ability Score Increase
You look very delicious. Your charisma score increases by 2 points.
Age
Luckily, or perhaps unfortunately, your shelf life has been expanded indefinitely. You will not mold or go stale by non-magical means.
Languages
You have spent a long time observing and absorbing the world around you. What else can you do when you are bread? You know common and two other languages of your choice.
Size
You are bread. You are tiny.
Speed
You are bread, and cannot move. Your walking speed is 0, as well as your burrowing, swimming, climbing, and flying speeds.
You do, however, float on water.
Bread Sense
Despite your lack of organs, you can perceive the world around you. You have 60 feet of blind sight, and you can accurately interpret sound vibrations felt through your crust to hear.
Telepathy
You can send one-way telepathic messages to one or more creatures that are within 60 feet of you. The creatures must share proficiency in the chosen language to understand the meaning.
Philosophical Musings
Once per short rest, your time spent pondering your nature allows you to pose philosophical musings to a creature within 60 feet of you. On a failed wisdom saving throw, you send the creature spiraling into despair. Their crisis incapacitates them for one minute, or until they take damage.

Posted Mar 24, 2024I used this as a wizard, and someone tried to bite into me
"I take a bite out of him."
The DM literally asked him to make a strength check and he was like.
"It's freaking bread. How hard is it?"
Then he failed the DC of 5
