Homebrew Balv Species Details
The Balv are a race of were wolf like creatures feared and revered as fierce warriors and merciless killers. They live in large packs in the dark forests Avalon. They are under the control of “The PackLeader” a Balv that is over every single pack on the island. The Pack Leader’s words are law, and shape practices, traditions, and faith at the time.
Females are the more dominant of the two being hunters and fighters. Males are tenders of the caves and watch over young Balvs. Balv’s do have life long mates and have large families. They also consider everyone in their pack extended family and all of the small pack share all their resources and jobs.
Balv’s have been known to hunt humans lost in the woods, so they are hated and hunted by humans as well. Because of this, Balv/human relationships are very very tense!

Age
Balv's mature very quickly, reaching adulthood at the human age of 10. They live to be about 60 if not killed before.
Alignment
Balv can be of any alignment, however it is very rare to see a “Lawful” aligned Balv. They have no structures of humanoid culture, so they do not have a sense of right or wrong, but rather survival.
Size
Balv tend to be larger than humans, usually averaging around 7 to 8 feet tall in adulthood. They can be of any build. They can also be of any color that a normal dog or wolf would be. However white is a very rare color for Balv’s. White Balv’s are considered the next in line for the Pack Leader role.
Languages
Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and Balv. You can also speak to animals because of your animal heritage (this gives you access to Speak with Animals with no spell slot used)
Keen Hearing and Smell
you have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.
Menacing
You gain proficiency in the Intimidation skill.
Bite
You use your powerful jaws to bite an enemy. If the enemy fails a DC 13 Con save, they will fall prone.
