Homebrew Troll (Playtest) Species Details

Born with horrific unending appetites, trolls eat anything they can catch and devour. They have no society to speak of anymore, but they do serve as mercenaries to orcs, ogres, ettins, hags, giants and other races. As payment, trolls demand food and treasure. Trolls are difficult to control, however, doing as they please even when working with more powerful creatures.

Still, some intelligent throwbacks with a more manageable hunger do arise on occasion. Able to resist the hunger induced insanity, they may just change the fate of their species.

Trolls have lifespans comparable to elves. They enter adulthood in their early teens and usually live less than six centuries.

Alignment

Troll society collapsed generations ago under the Curse of Hunger, leaving most trollkin independent and resentful. This makes them likely to embrace chaos or evil. Those who fight or control their hunger through discipline lean towards lawfulness.
