Homebrew Draconic Human Species Details
The dragons and humans had rejoiced, a tighter connection would have been made in this time. Where unity between races started, a new legacy of humanoids born. Only a fraction of what the Dragonborn are, these humanoids possessed a more mammal like appearance but retained some form of draconic identity. A number of scales, horns, or reptilian tails set upon human skin. A time of wonder and fascination spread like a dragon's breath.
Unfortunately, It would not be long before purity of dragon kind would be a issue. Racial unity had made an appearance, but with this, also racial injustice. It will not be long before internally, some would find this act revolting. Both humanoids and dragon kind alike would not assume responsibility, and a new age of racial persecution or prosperity would erupt.
Born of dragons and humans, the Draconic Human rises from the ashes seeking to make a impact between them and their heritage. Though limited compared to their pure blooded brethren, their capabilities allow them to adapt to both societies of dragons and humans. Not entirely accepted but many, this race faces obstacles, that in time, will fade.
Brood of Both
A very different appearance from their close relatives, Dragonborn, the Draconic Human maintains a more human form. Their hair color, patches of scales, tail, and horns, shows their connection to their draconic lineage whilst their skin and body, hold their connection to humanity. Their weight and height is closely associated with humans. They however, gain more strength than an average human.
Due to their mixed blood, Draconic Humans have varied interpretations to their roots. They may yet choose to redeem themselves to their draconic lineage by show of devotion if they are persecuted against, or may join the standards of human society. Some may even decline both if they so wish.
Paths of Life
Unknowing what they should do with their new life, Draconic Humans tend to search for some direction in their lives. Whether it be devotion to a clan of dragons, self adventure, or societal contribution. This race explores all that may interest them in their search for themselves.
A drive of exploration of the world and themselves allows many Draconic Humans to become adventurous and curious. Many wander from place to place until they have finally settled down with their chosen path in life.
As they have the desire to explore, they more often than not come in contact with others that are surprised of their existence. Many people are expected to be curious of their birth if they have not met this race before. This leads to a interesting journey for the Draconic Humans and those they come in contact with.

As a Draconic Human, you can use your bonus action to raise your AC by 1 with the use of your Draconic Scales until a enemy attack passes your AC, in which your Scales are pierced and take a Long Rest to recover. At 10th Level, your AC increases by 1 more when you use this Racial Trait.

Due to your Human Lineage, you are able to gain proficiency in a certain trade or skill that you otherwise wouldn't have access to. As a Draconic Human, you may choose a skill or tool and become proficient in it.
