Homebrew Vulcani Species Details
"And it was Yenniah, who was desired to have something to remember her partner for eternity, created from her mind something that would always remind her of what she lost in that terrible cataclysm... That Rangakost. Indeed, as they sprung from her mind as she dreamed in her home among the fire and brimstone of the Elemental Plane of Fire she felt for the first time true happiness. Together, she and her children drove out the Abyssals from this land and claimed it forever as their own... It was there that Yenniah stayed... A mother amidst her children, whom she loved with all her heart and fiery soul." - Excerpt from the Encyclopedia of the Multiverse
Elemental Bloodline
Vulcani are derived from elemental bloodlines, and in the broadest possible sense, they still look mostly humanoid. However, their powerful elemental heritage has left a clear imprint on their appearance. Vulcani often appear as walking bodies filled with pure glowing energy of wildly different colors of fire. They have body types as varied as regular humans or elves that are built thin and tall, or in some cases they are built as large and cut as half giants or goliath. Their faces often bear no features or just eyes and a slit for a mouth, and if they possess eyes they are a kaleidoscope of colors ranging from maroons, pinks, red, white, silver, or gold—with no visible sclera or pupil. Their skin tones cover the full range of human coloration, but also include various shades of oranges, reds, yellows or even blues, greens or teal. Their hair is usually as long as they are tall or short and wild, ranging in the spectrum of color of fire that usually compliments their body color.
Adventurous and Curious
Vulcani were naturally born among the sands and fiery lakes of their homeland among the Titemic Elemental Plane of Fire where their mother, Yenniah, rules. However, over the eons, Vulcani, through their natural curiosity and adventurous natures, have explored beyond their homeland and settled in other planes. It is ingrained within every Vulcani to explore and learn more about everything around them, and as such this can lead to a very dangerous and fulfilling life for them but it often than not leads them into trouble.
Vulcani Names
Vulcani names fall into two broad categories. Vulcani born into another culture outside their homeland typically have names reflective of that culture. Some have names derived from the Primordial language, passed down through generations, that reflect their adventurous, elemental heritage. And some younger Vulcani, striving to find a place in the world, adopt a name that signifies something they've seen that left an imprint on them on their nomadic journey or wild adventures.
