Homebrew Blood Bearers Species Details

History:

Their ancestors were great users of magic, a group of ambitious humanoids who sought eternal life. Using the power of necromancy, the blood of vampires and performing various spells and rituals, they achieved their goal, but not in the way they imagined. Apparently there were not many changes, it was possible to notice that his canines were bigger, his skin slightly paler and a strange attraction to the darkness. But contrary to what they thought, their efforts still had more surprises. When the firsts of the group died, after about 5 days they came back to life. Even more like vampires, moreover they no longer felt hungry or sleepy, they had become undead. However, despite certain similarities, they were certainly not vampires, they did not feel thirsty for blood or anything like that, somehow now they had a magical and unique blood. 

Physical Description:

Your aesthetic is very similar to when you were alive, but now your canines are bigger, your skin is paler and your eyes are darker. Your hair also changed, if was dark it is even darker and if was light now it is almost white. Despite being undead, their body is perfectly preserved, they can be muscular or extremely thin, everything depends on their shape in life.

New generation:

The breed is not well known, but what they called "blood of life", made them known as "Blood Bearers". The breed is very rare since its ancestors did not leave many descendants and that is why these undead are so unknown. New Blood Bearers probably have no idea that they were born with this magical blood, but as time goes by, memories of their ancestors' past appear in their minds and thus they discover what they really are.

Blood Bearers are undeads with magic blood, it has many similarities with vampires.

Your Constitution, Dexterity and Wisdom scores all increase by 1.

Age

Blood Bearers don't age and live until they are killed in battle.

Alignment

Your alignment may be the same as when you were alive, but Blood Bearers tend to be Chaotic.

Size

There is no change in your size once becoming a Blood Bearer.

Speed

Your base walking  speed is 30ft.

Darkvision

For being an undead and having vampire traits, you can easily see through the darkness. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Undead Soul

Due to your undead soul, you do not need to eat, sleep, breathe or drink. Instead, you must enter a trance for 4 hours a day, you are fully aware of your surroundings . Remaining in this trance for 4 hours a day gives you the same benefit 8 hours of sleep for a normal human would give.

Undead nature

Because your body has already died, it is a bit sturdier against toxins that affect the living. You are resistant to poison and necrotic damage and  immune to disease.

Drain Magic

To maintain the magic of your blood, your body is always draining the magic around you. You can use this ability to the fullest and drain a magical attack from the enemy. When a magic attack deals damage to you, using your reaction you can absorb the spell, taking no damage and recovering half the total damage (if you successfully passed a saving throw that halves the damage, you absorb total damage). You can use this ability 1 time with each long rest.

As you have memories of your ancestors, you have great knowledge of magic, you are proficient in the arcane skill.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
