Homebrew Bluecap Species Details
Small and bright, Bluecaps are the happiest race in the Underdark. They have managed to hide from the Drow and make their own small civilisations. Due to this they often will help races enslaved by the Drow.
Bluecaps have black skin with blue stripes or spots on their head. The blue areas are bioluminescent, and can become extremely bright. Bluecap males are have long beards and long hair and Bluecap females also have quite long hair, but no facial hair.
In their society, magic is very prominent, due to Bluecaps descending from Fey. The most magically adept Bluecaps gain the highest position, which has led to some of the less magical members of the race to leave their homes in search of more success.
Bluecap names are generally short, and surnames are attached to the first name. First names are based on stones, rocks and gems, while family names are adjectives based on roles/jobs. There are also no gendered names in Bluecap society.
