To be greeted with stares and whispers, to suffer violence and insult on the street, to see mistrust and fear in every eye: this is the life of a corrupted one. Their appearance and their nature are not their fault but the result of an ancient evil, of which they a part of their soul is linked to.

Corrupt Bloodline

Corrupt are derived from any bloodline, and in the broadest possible sense, they still look human. However, their corrupt heritage has left a clear imprint on their appearance. They have large claws on their hands that replace their nails, they are usually used for digging and slashing. Their canine teeth are sharply pointed, and their eyes are solid colours— usually black or purple—with no visible sclera or pupil. Their skin tones are usually grey or a pale pink. They usually don’t have much hair but sometimes they have been sighted to have purple or black hair.

Self-Reliant and Suspicious

Corrupt are usually very independent and prefer to be alone and are found mostly in secluded rural areas, often hoping never to be found, they often grow up to thieves, or crime lords.

Lacking a normal homeland Corrupt know that they have to make their own way in the world and that they have to be strong to survive. They are not quick to trust anyone who claims to be a friend, but when a person demonstrates that they trust him or her, they usually learn to extend the same trust to them. And once a corrupt gives someone loyalty, they are a firm friend or ally for life.

Corrupt Names

Corrupt names are usually that of their normal counterpart Some have names derived from the Abyssal language. And some younger more natural corrupt, striving to find a place in the world, adopt a name that signifies a virtue or other concept and then try to embody that concept. For some, the chosen name is a noble quest. For others, it’s a grim destiny.

Corrupted Traits

Corrupt share certain racial traits as a result of their corrupt descent.

Ability Score Increase

Your dexterity score increases by 1, and your Constitution score increases by 2.

Age

Corrupt live for the same time as their natural counterpart.

Alignment

Corrupt have an innate tendency toward evil and many of them end up there. Evil or not, an independent nature inclines many corrupt toward a chaotic alignment.

Size

Corrupts are the same size as their natural counterpart but are usually stockier and more muscular.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 25 feet and you have a burrowing speed of 10 feet.

Darkvision

Thanks to your corrupt heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the blindness/deafness spell as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the darkness spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Constitution is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
