Homebrew Beastfolk. Species Details

"They were humans who were cursed."

"I heard they are actually animals that have taken humanoid shape through some kind of magic."

Their past is etched in mystery, even to themselves. Rumors abound about their nature, but regardless of their past, the Beastfolk are determined to find their place in the world. They have recently started traveling far and wide, creating quite a shock when they first arrive in a location.

As Vast as the Animal Kingdom

Beastfolk vary as much as the animals they share their features with. Some species barely reach 3 feet in height while some tower over others at 7 feet tall and can weigh from 80 to 400 pounds depending on their subrace. Beastfolk closely resemble Humans with skin shade ranging from nearly black to very pale, and hair colors from black to blond (curly, kinky, or straight); males might sport facial hair that is sparse or thick. The revealing feature of the Beastfolk is their identifying tail and animal ears. Some may even sport more pronounced canines or incisors. Beastfolk reach adulthood in their early teens and the oldest might reach their early 70's.

Life of Adventure

Beastfolk are natural explorers and adventurers. Many have set off to travel the globe with many different purposes. Having no place to call a homeland they can easily make any place they find home. Their natural abilities make them suitable adventurers and explorers and they are often hired on to missions exploring the depths of the wilds or searching for lost ruins. Beastfolk are just as much at home in urban areas as they are in the wilderness and can be found in cities throughout the world.

Beastfolk Names

As they have no language of their own, Beastfolk borrow naming conventions from the people and places around them. Beastfolk can be found with names familiar to all races and areas of the world.
