Homebrew Bearon Species Details

Bearon are large, humanoid ursus (bears) with front paws that have an opposable thumb and lack dangerous claws, sporting something closer to finger nails. They are more human looking than most human/creature hybrid. They do not have sharp teeth and cannot bite. They have fur on their bodies in varied patterns and have a bone structure that resembles their ancestors (Ursine Bears), despite walking almost permanently upright, just as other bipeds, they are significanly slower for their size, due to slightly stumped legs. A Bearon has skin that rivals that of orcs in toughness, making Bearon hard to injure. Bearon also have poor eyesight but a keen sense of smell. There are few distinguishing features between different Bearon with only mild variance of size and features, although they often have unique battle scars and a distinct under bite. Their fur is most commonly light brown, with black noses and darker brown along the legs and arms towards the paws. Bearon rarely wear armour for battle. Their skin is abrasive enough to gradually tear through tight fitting armor straps making the use of armor more diffic
