Homebrew Bosmer Species Details

Bosmer, or Wood Elves, hail from the province of Valenwood. Rejecting the formalities of the civilized world, the Bosmer discarded lavish living for a life in the wilderness, among nature, the trees, and animals. In fact, their major cities are actually located in giant walking trees that roam the forest province of Valen­wood. They decorate their bodies to resemble their forest surroundings. Because of this, many view them as barbarians.

SMALL AND NIMBLE

The Bosmer are one of the smallest races in Tamriel and are born with skin colors ranging from light brown to pale tan to light green. They are also capable of growing small horns or antlers from their forheads. The Wood Elves lineage is less noble than that of the Altmer, but they have adapted well to Tamriel.

THE GREEN PACT

The Bosmer allegedly made the Pact with Y'ffre, the Forest Deity. The Bosmer were religiously carnivo­rous and cannibalistic as a result of the Green Pad, a central portion of the Bosmer faith. The Green Pact is never explicitly shown, but in its simplest form, it sets these rules down: Bosmer may only consume meat-based products and are forbidden to harm any plant for their own betterment. As a result of these stipulations, Bosmer are dependent on either stone or imported timber for construction purposes. Bosmer outside of Valenwood are not bound by th .rules of this pact, so many leave to avoid them.

Speed  Your base walking speed is 35 feet.

Forest Friend You are proficient in Animal Handling.

Stealth Archers You are proficiant with shortbows and longbows.

Bosmer Traits

Your elf character has a variety of natural abilities, the result of thousands of years of elven refinement.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 2 and your Wisdom score increases by 1.

Age

Due to their elven nature is it assumed Bosmer can live to roughly 400 years.

Bosmer are smaller than most races on Tamriel being a maximum of 5 feet. Your size is medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 35 feet.

You are proficient in Animal Handling. 

Stealth Archers

You are proficient with short bows and longbows.

Poison Resistance

You are resistant to poison damage.

Command Animal

As an action, choose a target beast within 30 feet with a CR of VS your level. It must pass a Wisdom Saving Throw DC 10 + your Animal Handling bonus. If they fail, they are your ally for 30 minutes. You must take a long rest to use this feature again.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Elvish. Elvish is fluid, with subtle intonations and intricate grammar. Elven literature is rich and varied, and their songs and poems are famous among other races. Many bards learn their language so they can add Elvish ballads to their repertoires.

Alignment

Elves love freedom, variety, and self-expression, so they lean strongly toward the gentler aspects of chaos. They value and protect others’ freedom as well as their own, and they are more often good than not. The drow are an exception; their exile into the Underdark has made them vicious and dangerous. Drow are more often evil than not.

Feat

Grants you additional feat of your choosing.
