Homebrew Caterfolk Species Details

Caterfolk

Caterfolk live in forests, or in the great trees of Arborea. They live in arboreal silk tents of their own creation, and feed on leaves.

Butterfolk Transformation

Some time in their twenties, Caterfolk transform into their adult form, the bright-winged Butterfolk. They find a place where they can hang upside-down, fall into hibernation, and transform into Butterfolk. This process can take up to a week or two. They have some control over when they choose to start this process, but when they are ready, they have an overwhelming urge to transform. Butterfolk are often a bit frazzled after their transformation, and may have some temporary memory loss.

Age

Caterfolk mature at about the same rate as humans. They reach maturity in their late teens, and make the transition to butterfolk some time in their twenties. As butterfolk, they live somewhat longer than humans do, up to 120 years.

Alignment

Strong and self-reliant, caterfolk tend toward a neutral alignment.

Size

Caterfolk are generally built like humans, standing anywhere from 5 feet to over 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 25 feet. You have a climbing speed is equal to you walking speed.

Silk

You can create a 30 foot length of silk rope from your body as an action. You can do this 5 times between rests.
