Homebrew Werewolf Species Details
Werewolves are creatures of darkness and despair. A living image of when sins consume and become reality. These creatures are often seen in packs, killing or transforming their targets and spreading their curse. Werewolves that turn good are often known for being lone wolves(HA) that try to keep their burden secret in case others see them as a threat.
Werewolf Traits

Thanks to keen senses, you have superior vision in dark and dim Conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in Darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in Darkness, only Shades of Gray and Red.
Shapechanger
The werewolf can use its action to polymorph into a wolf-humanoid hybrid or into a wolf, or back into its true form, which is humanoid. Its statistics, other than its AC, are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.
Hybrid form:
- You retain your humanoid character statistics and you can wield weapons as normal.
- You can understand and speak languages that you are familiar with, but your speech is more guttural and slow.
- Your Walking Speed is now 40ft
- You can now use your attack action to attack with your claws (2d4+STGH) or your bite (1d8+STGH)
- After using a successful bite attack on a humanoid that did not kill you may inflict the lycanthropy curse upon them.
- Your AC is 9 + your dexterity modifier, as long as you have no armor on while in this form.
Full Wolf form:
You retain your humanoid character statistics but you are only allowed to use your unarmed/Natural strikes.
- You cannot wear armor or wield weapons.
- Your AC is 9 + your dexterity modifier, as long as you have no armor on while in this form.
- Your Walking Speed is now 40ft
- You can no longer speak or write.
- You can now use your attack action to attack with your bite (1d8+STGH)
- After using a successful bite attack on a humanoid that did not kill you may inflict the lycanthropy curse upon them.
Keen Senses
Your keen senses now pick up more than most able to smell faint smells and see smaller details easier. You have advantage on any Perception check that relies on Sight or Smell.
Ability Score Increase
Your Strength ability score increases by 2 and your Dexterity score increases by 1.
Age
Werewolves reach adulthood in their late teens and live slightly more than a century.
Alignment
Werewolves tend toward the chaotic evil alignment, only those that reject their tendencies can be other alignments. If they do reject their alignment on every full moon or thirty days, they will transform into their hybrid form. After transforming the DM has full control over their character until sunrise, when the player will transform back.
Size
Your human form may vary widely in height and build, ranging from below 5 feet to slightly taller than 6 feet. However while in your Hybrid form you are almost always a foot taller than your normal form. Your size is medium regardless.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and Wolven. Being a Werewolf it is only natural to be able to speak to Wolves and like-minded animals.
