"When I told them the orcish warband was coming their way, all the gecko people did was shrug and go back to their music, their games and their ale. When I gave them proof of orcish movements in the east, they continued to do nothing other than drink and play. When I left them to die, I didn't expect to return to a lively village, nor did I expect them to be drinking and partying with a couple of orcish soldiers."

— Maximillion Craythorn, The Forest Alcoholics

The Tegokka are a simple people with simple needs and simple pleasures. They party, they drink, and they play. Anything else is entirely dependant on their mood.

Nimble and Bright

With their small stature and bright skin, tegokka are a sight to see. Their beady eyes and long tails only add to their unusual charm, although nearly every tegokka can be seen with a smile on their face.

Their skin is almost always a bright colour, often green, yellow, or orange, but it isn't uncommon to have tegokka that are red, blue, or even purple or white. No matter their colour, all tegokka treat each other equally, and none of them go without or are divided because of their skin colour. Naturally optimistic and relaxed, the tegokka take one problem on a time, and don't bother worrying about things that they can't change or control. Who are they to tell the river not to flood, or the wind not to blow, or the fire not to crackle?

A Natural Charm

The simple lifestyle and abundant optimism of the tegokka naturally appeals to many different types of people. While it's unlikely that you'll find anything other than tegokka in a tegokkan village, it isn't impossible to spot the occasional traveller enjoying their company, or a scouting party or military party enjoying a drink and a game of cards.

Those who visit a tegokkan village can often find it hard to leave, due to the flowing alchohol and abundant friendship and games. Those who stay with the tegokkan for a long period of time often adopt their lifestyle and beliefs.

Friends of the Forests

The tegokka can be found in any sort of natural environment, though they favour forests and rain forests. Despite this, a few tribes live in swamps, as they enjoy the cool mud and water. Others prefer jungles, and like to spend time climbing up and down different trees. Even fewer tegokka make their homes in mountain ranges, as they appreciate the altitude and sights.

No matter where they make their home, the tegokka are always careful to avoid places with little sunlight. Being reptiles by nature, they enjoy nothing more than a lazy day spent in the sun, and anything less is abhorrent in their eyes.

Tegokka Quirks

The tegokka rarely live a life outside their village, and it shows in the way they act around others. You can select, roll, or adapt a tegokka-specific quirk from the Tegokka Quirks table. Use the quirk to inform how you portray your character.

d8 Quirk
1 You assume the best way to get a read on someone is to play a game of cards with them.
2 You hate doing more work that you think is needed to solve a problem.
3 You know the specific alcohol needed for every occasion, and a few that need no occasion at all.
4 You can't help but lick your eye during conversation. The reactions you get are hilarious.
5 You often fiddle with your own tail when you need to think.
6 You sometimes stop in the middle of sentence to taste the air around you.
8 You believe that anyone that pays for their alcohol is an idiot, and should learn to make their own brew.
