Homebrew Mothfolk Species Details

Deep in the fey-wilds, Mothfolk have survived for hundreds of years. Their culture has grown larger and larger, and so they have migrated out of the fey-wild and into the large forests of our world. They are large and bulky, with large, fuzzy wings on their backs. They are covered in fine fur, which is highly prized for cloaks, rugs, and blankets. To defend themselves, Mothfolk have evolved to be fast and nimble, living high in the trees and ambushing attackers from above. They have large bulbous eyes, which give of a faint, luminous glow. This allows them to hunt during the night when predators are less likely to catch them. Mothfolk are omnivorous, eating meat and large flowers. They have evolved without opposable thumbs, but are amazingly skilled with bows, which leads many people to believe they have magical capabilities. Mothfolk are rare in cities, but the subrace cloth mothfolk are common in large cities, as the lights attract them.
