Homebrew Aelurus Species Details

Hidden in within the tangled branches of dense forests live an illusive race, the Aelurus, a cat-like race that prefers a secretive life. Known to the outside world as assassins and guns for hire, but within their hidden town, there is a rich and warm culture. Family, friends, and food is everything that Aelurus' stand for, they fight with fierce claws for what they the love and believe in. Aelurus are lean yet muscular, their natural agility and stealth skills far surpass any race. What they lack in brute strength, they make up for in wit, often being able to outsmart opponents when stuck in troubling situations. Tradition is rooted deep within Aelurus culture, the family weapon and trade is passed down to the eldest child at their coming of age ceremony.

Aelurus Traits

Aelurus have sharp facial features with a wider nose bridge, upturned eyes, and pointed canines. Thick mane-like hair is worn in traditional braids with ears and tails that match the color of the hair. Aelurus are lean, short and have sharp claws instead of nails.

Ability Score Increse

Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1.

Darkvision

 Aelurus have cat’s keen senses, especially in the dark. You can see in dim light within 60 feet as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Feline Agility

Your reflexes and agility allow you to move with a burst of speed. When you move on your turn in combat, you can double your speed until the end of the turn. Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you move 0 feet on one of your turns.

Claws

Because of your claws, you have a climbing speed of 30 feet. In addition, your claws are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
