Homebrew Awakened Monkey Species Details
Monkeys are such... interesting creatures. Whether they act dumb as rocks or nearly intelligent as some humanoids, they always find a way to amaze scientists. But sometimes scientists go a little too far and make this: an awakened monkey. usually the spell "awaken" will make the animal or plant conscious and nothing more. But for some reason, these monkeys go much further beyond. they gain interesting abilities and can even start to cast spells even. It is such an interesting power, and while the idea of making a superpowered monkey seems... unethical. there is plenty to learn and who knows? maybe befriending one has its advantages. Keep a close eye for these wonderful beings. Im sure there is more to them than meets the eye!

Age
Your monkey heritage makes gives you an interesting maturity and growth. You mature at the age of 4-8 years old like most monkeys. But, you live to be as old as 115-300 years old due to the magic flowing through their veins.
Alignment
Awakened monkeys are curious. they don't seem to have any connection to a specific alignment. They are capable of being chaotic or lawful, good or evil. It's simply up to their creation.
Size
The monkeys that commonly go through this transformation are usually small. with heights from 2.5-4.5 feet and weighing from 20-80 pounds. your size is Small.
Speed
Monkeys are faster than average. with a walking speed of 35 feet, and they can climb as quickly as they walk.
Darkvision
Monkeys are naturally adapt to low light environments. you have darkvision out to 60 feet.
Magical Origin
Due to your curious awakening, you get access to powerful magic. You can choose 1 cantrip from the sorcerer spell list. You will use Charisma as your casting modifier.
Magic Manipulation
You become attuned to the essence of magic itself. When you roll damage or healing for a spell, you can magically alter the outcome to hopefully bend it to your will. You reroll every dice for the damage or healing and must use the new roll. this action can be done once a long rest.
Beast speech
You still have your roots to your monkey heritage. you can speak with and understand all monkeys.
