Homebrew Wes'vit Species Details

If there's one thing about a Wes'vit that one should know... they're incredibly stubborn.

- Summer Starsprinter, a member of the Wes'vit race herself

The Wes'vit are mustelid-based beings, specifically weasels. Their bodies are covered in fur, usually orange, and they have dexterous paws close to that of a humanoid person's, as they have rough padding on their paws.

They are also incredibly stubborn, stuck in their ways, and can be so maniacal in their plans that it's hard to stop them from doing the things they want to do.

One of the most famous Wes'vit goes by many names, but the friendliest name one could call him is "Jenath Starsprinter", a benevolent warlord wannabe that wanted to take over the Exoverse to make sure no one else would suffer like he did... as he was a lab experiment back when he was younger.

Wes'vit also have a thing for sauces, and have an extra thing for a sauce non-existent (as we know of, anyways) in the D&D Multiverse... barbecue sauce.

Wes'vit, lastly, have a wind affinity, and many Wes'vit are often wind magic users (note: in Crossover Chaos they are called "Wind Mages") and often have coloured wind, usually orange, blue or green, though other colours are not uncommon.

Pick this race if you want to be a STR or CHA-based race...

Or... if you just want to be a weasel and the other weasel-based races aren't satisfactory enough for you.

Also, if you're playing in the Krimzonedge setting, these replace the Gnomes, as the Krimzonedge setting's races are all homebrewed, meaning that no D&D canonical races are used in the original (non-modified) campaign setting.

(This race is part of the Krimzonedge campaign setting. Krimzonedge is part of the open source Crossover Chaos fanfiction project, by Elwynn James and Jessica McKinney, and they also own this interpretation of the race, and I do not claim this part as my own. Although this version of the race is open source, D&D Beyond may consider that still "copyright", even though there is none to speak of when it comes to fanfiction and open source.

The original 'race' (originally just called a "Weasel") is owned by Niko Anesti for use in his GEOWeasel webcartoon series, and I do not claim this part as my own.

Some parts of the worldbuilding are derivative of the Raesokeran Mustilus race on the D&D Wiki, and I do not claim these parts as my own.

All rights reserved to all of them, no copyright infringement intended.

This D&D Beyond version of the race is for use on the site only, and you must use permission to put it on other sites. I am only the person who has permission to upload the Krimzonedge setting races onto D&D Beyond, and I do not truly own the campaign setting or what they are derivative of.)

Wes'vit Traits

The Wes'vit are an unusual race, with unusual features.

Wes'vit Language

The Wes'vit language is primitive, but can sometimes, be unusually robust.

Their written language started out as just a pictorial script, but as time went on, the language has adopted a life of its own, now adopting letters similiar to that of Common.

It can be hard to learn, as it has a lot of rough anecdotes and slang, some of it is very rude when it translates into Common.

Common is used among their cityfolk, however.

Some may be able to have other languages coming out of their mouths, depending on where they live.

Therefore, you may speak Common, Wes'vit (input it manually) and another language of your choice.

Wes'vit Names

Usually, the Wes'vit are named after a type of rodent.

The letters are usually jumbled, and a lot of S letters are replaced with Z, a lot of C letters with K, and eck and unk are replaced with X.

This would lead a Wes'vit to be named Weazel or Sk'x, as those are common names for male Wes'vit.

Ability Score Increase

The Wes'vit are known to be strong, charismatic people.

Because of such, your STR and CHA scores increase by 1.

Age

Wes'vit have short lifespans compared to that of a human or elf.

They can live up to 70 years, and physically mature at 16.

Alignment

Stereotypically, the Wes'vit are more chaotic.

They will lean more towards chaos then law, due to their distrusting nature of all things lawful.

Darkvision

Wes'vit can see in the dark... somewhat.

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Wes'vit Teeth

Wes'vit teeth are quite sharp.

You can make an unarmed strike for 1d4 piercing damage.

Wes'vit Bravado

It's hard to scare a Wes'vit.

You have advantage against being Frightened.

Wes'vit History

The Wes'vit are of an unusual racial history.

The Wes'vit were left alone during the various wars, and have kept their history a secret.

Their most famous member was Weaz, a Warlock that served the Hexblood, with his party of two Moirin and a Human Bard by his side.

He went and tried to take over all of Faerun, but he seemed to disappear alongside his party...

No one knows where they went, but it is said that the King of his people, Arkon, last saw him in going off to another world with his party.

Wes'vit Society

The Wes'vit intermingle with the humans most times nowadays.

They used to be a tribal race, before they had assimilated (at least partially) into human society.

They are very friendly folk, and have a great reputation...

But there are a few that don't have their race's great reputation...
