Homebrew Breton Species Details

In addition to their quick and perceptive grasp of spellcraft, even the humblest of High Rock's Bretons can boast a resistance to magic. Bretons can call upon the Dragonskin power to absorb spells.

Bretons are the human descendants who hail from the province of High Rock. They are descended from both races of man and mer, gifting the incredible power over the Arcane of the elves and adaptability of the races of men.

Of Two Worlds

Their physical features resemble their Nedic ancestors, including their pale skin tone and the obvious resemblance to Imperials/Nords, but some still inherit the frail sharp appearance of the elves, along with the arrogance, and some do have slight points in their ears.

Arcane Masters

They are pure spell weavers and are advanced in all the Arcane arts. While lacking in physical skill, they make up for it in their ability to resist and cast spells that overwhelm most people.

They are highly intelligent, wilful, and have an outgoing personality. It is said that Bretons are weaned on magic, for it seems to infuse their very being. Intermingling with elven blood has given Bretons an affinity for magic, though hardiness is also part of their heritage. Breton culture operates under the feudal system, and their society is agrarian and hierarchial.

In the Reach reside a group of Bretons, known as the Reachmen, historically regarded as a barbaric race involved in dark and extreme practices. Twenty years before the events of Skyrim, the Reachmen were involved in an armed uprising against the Nords that ruled Markarth. They took the city by force, due to a belief that it belonged to the native population. They were soon driven out by Ulfric Stormcloak, prior to his own conflict with the Empire. The remaining insurrectionists were later known as the Forsworn.
