Homebrew Zornari Species Details

Never seen or heard of before throughout the lands other that seemingly crazy pirates claiming sightings of “abysmal, monstrous water creatures” living off the far northern coasts. Zornari are isolated, and self substation humanoids with their own established way of life and ideology. With their dominating, monstrous like physical statue, Zornari hunt to survive. They track down anything that they can get their hands on to sustain their tribe, and anything means ANYTHING. They are a stoic, blunt, and straightforward. They are brutal, efficient, and savage. They shoot to sustain their way of life, and stay true to the traditions and beliefs they have hold dear through generations and generations of ideological, cultural based belief systems. If you ever see one, this can only mean two things: You have seen something you may never get the chance to see again, or it may be the last thing you ever see.

Zornari Traits

Zornari have a range of many different racial abilities that allow them to do things from sense injured enemies to attack prey with their jaws.

Natural Armor

Natural Armor: Zornari have evolved to have tough skin do to handle the depths of the ocean like their ancestors. They have natural armor that gives them a base AC of 12 + their Dexterity modifier. Wearing armor can increase their natural AC as well as shields.

Born From Water

Zornari not only have gills that allow them to breathe underwater, but they also have the ability to breathe air. They also have a swim speed of 40 feet do to their webbed hands and feet.

 

Unknown, Fierce Being

 Zornari are descendants of the most dominant predators to exist in the oceans, and no one or very few know of their existence. Zornari are naturally proficient in the Intimidation skill. 

 

Death Grip

Zornari are powerful beings that have naturally gifted strength that they master in many forms. One of which being grappling. They have on advantages on strenght checks related to grappling or restraining.

Bite

Zornari have a large mouth filled with razor sharp, shredding teeth. Whenever a Zornari make an unarmed attack it counts as 1d6 piercing damage + Strength modifier. 

Blood In The Water

Zornari can easily pick up of the scent of blood. If there is an injured creature within 60 feet of them, Zornari can sense where they are within their range. The only way to stop this is to patch the injure that occurred. This can occur through healing potions, spells, or a medicine check. It is at disadvantage if the target is outside of 60 feet. 

Ability Score Increase

Zornari have a +2 Constitution, and a +1 Strength.
