Homebrew Android Species Details

Built as mindless automations of labor, service, and war; the androids have developed sentience from either a defect, magical charge to their system, or simply awakening. As mortal-made constructs, many think they are little more than property; however, others have noted their ability to develop individual personalities and thoughts as something completely separate from other constructs, making androids nearly no different from "living" races. Androids themselves have differing opinions on the matter of their being. 

Metal and circuitry

Due to the android's shape and general size, they can be easily mistaken for a human at a distance or in poor lighting. A closer inspection, however, reveals the veins of circuitry that connect the androids body and the flexible synthetic metals that make the androids arms, legs, torso, and head. Androids do not need to breath, but they still need "sleep" like any living creature. Since androids are constructed they do not reproduce the way living creatures do, therefore have no need of gender, and normally have a sexless body shape. In personality, some androids seem more masculine or feminine, but others judge the same android in different ways. Most androids are unconcerned with the nature of gender. Androids are roughly the same size as humans; on average, they are 5 and half feet tall and weight 200 pounds. Some androids were crafted to look like other races but they are uncommon and expensive. 

Circuitry and Soul

While androids can, and sometimes do, consider the matters of morality, souls, and overall existence, most choose not to; either by following another's lead or taking the path that is most likely to ensure their continued survival. Likewise, androids are not often religious, this is due more to the programming of the androids AI in which religious programming was kept to a minimum to make it easier to sell androids to customers regardless of religious affiliation.  

Android Names

Androids were given a model name and number upon first creation. Some still use this labeling as their name, but others have taken a personal name that reveals a certain purpose, or nickname.

Age

An android's body does not deteriorate by the means of old age as long as the android is continuously cared for and repaired, but if left to the elements an androids body can become weaker and ultimately destroy over the course of a century. Other than this android's have no known expiration date.

Android's typically stand at 5 and a half feet tall and weigh 200 pounds. Your size is medium

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Constructed body

You count as both a construct and humaniod for the purpose of effects targeting such creatures. In addition you have immunity to disease, the poisoned condition, and cannot be put to sleep magically. 

Darkvision

Your advanced artificially-designed eyes grant you superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Natural armor

Your base AC is increased by +2 due to the thick but flexible metal used in your creation.
