Homebrew Apefolk Species Details

“They move so elegantly through the trees. Swinging from branch to branch with ease. What really blew my mind was when I watched one obliterate a small tree with nothing but it’s fists.”
                        - Daisy Remn ; Magic Shop Keeper

Hailing from a strange and distant land, wandering apefolk are monkey like humanoids. Living in trees and mountains. Apefolk spend most of their time training in monastic traditions and hand to hand combat. Although some apefolk take a more dramatic approach to combat mostly being the more built apefolk.

Wandering Outcasts

Most apefolk remain in their distant homeland, content to dwell in small, tight clans. These apefolk hunt for food, train in hand to hand, and largely keep to themselves.

Many apefolk crave the answers to their creation. Who? Why? Specifically when? Apefolk will travel far and wide to find yet an almost insignificant amount of information pertaining to their creation. Their creator has been depicted on tree carvings and cave paintings as an Air Genasi bearing a set of owl wings. Had their ancestors actually witnessed their creator or was he just a product of dream?

Creatures of the Trees and Mountains.

Apefolk crave the thrill of swinging through the trees and incredible speeds. Spending most of their time above ground hidden in the leafy trees of their homelands. Some hide in the mountains. Living in such cold environments has caused them to evolve to grow more and thicker fur and become larger in build.

Apefolk value Wisdom and Strength. Their tails perk up when the opportunity to become stronger presents itself.

Although material wealth holds little attraction for the apefolk, they have an insatiable desire to find and learn new religions, combat styles, and wise teachings.

Fighters and Pacifists

While some Apefolk crave the hand to hand thrill of combat a good portion of them take up arms. Training in armed and even mounted combat many Apefolk go down a dark path of violence and wage war for territory against other Apefolk mostly targeting the pacifistic Apefolk first.
