Homebrew Snow Tiefling Species Details

Snow Tieflings are pretty rare and, usually, keep to themselves. They live in small communities and don't usually meddle in others business. Sometimes they live among other minority populations in enclaves where they are treated with more respect than most of other tieflings.

Lacking a homeland, tieflings know that they have to make their own way in the world and that they have to be strong to survive. They are not quick to trust anyone who claims to be a friend, but when a tiefling’s companions demonstrate that they trust him or her, the tiefling learns to extend the same trust to them. And once a tiefling gives someone loyalty, the tiefling is a firm friend or ally for life.

It is said that these tieflings blood is influenced by frost giants and magic forests, hence their snow white or blue skin and short straight horns. Their canine teeth are sharply pointed, and their eyes are solid colors—black, purple, blue, or white—with no visible sclera or pupil. With pointy ears and dreadlocked hair, in shades of blue, white or purple. And in the broadest possible sense, they still look human since they are derived from human bloodlines.

Snow Tiefling Names

They follow the same structure as other tieflings regarding their names, and they usually choose a name more related to their frost giant nature as a virtue name:

Males: Fulvragg, Helmskag, Oraldr, Oskorri, Skane, Svolm, Ulfur, Uttir, and Valkurl.

Females: Folka, Gauthild, Geira, Grymra, Haelgra, Helmra, Hrimma, Imbra, Magra, and Vulkara.

Snow Tiefling Traits

Tieflings share certain racial traits with other tieflings and with frost giants:

Ability Score Increase

Your Wisdom score increases by 1, and your Constitution score increases by 2.

Age

Snow Tieflings mature at the same rate as humans but live a few years longer, between 90 and 150 years.

Alignment

Snow Tieflings tend to be neutral good and very rarely tend to evil.

Size

Snow Tieflings are about the same size and build as humans, usually a bit larger. With an average height of 170 - 195 cm, and an average weight of 165 - 120 kg. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet. Also, you don't have penalty for difficult terrain in snowed and iced areas.

Darkvision

Thanks to your heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 120 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Cold Resistance

Your heritage has make you immune to being frozen and resistant to cold damage,  you gain advantage on saves against cold.

Frost Legacy

You know the frostbite cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the ice knife spell as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the pass without trace spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
