Homebrew Doe-Eyed Firbolg Species Details

  Firbolg come in many different shapes and sizes. The doe-eyed subrace is one of the most well-known and common ones. People describe them as enchanting and beautiful, but most of all, adorable. They are popular in social circles for their amazing looks and soft character. 

Charming Looks

  As mentioned before, doe-eyed firbolg have been described as "enchanting." Their eyes are slightly larger than other firbolg's, and have long eyelashes. Their irises and pupils tend to be bigger, and some even have horizontal pupils. Their ears are rounder, and usually turned down towards the shoulders. Some sport antlers, which seem to grow regardless of gender. Lone firbolg tend to file these down to nubs to appear more normal to their non-firbolg peers. They are skinnier and slightly smaller than other types of firbolg.
  If you thought the average firbolg had a soft voice, you've never met a doe-eyed one. Many describe them as innocent, which is true for a lot of them. Like other firbolg, they rarely leave the forest they were born in and sworn to protect. While other firbolg are known to be wise, doe-eyed firbolg are known to be charismatic.

Light Footed

  Doe-eyed firbolg have been known to tread carefully no matter what terrain they're in. Their step is light and fast. They seem to be able to break into a sprint without warning, leaving anyone and anything behind them. It has become a popular joke that doe-eyed firbolg are terrible guard dogs – alert, but cowardly. Whether that joke bears truth or not is still a point of contention.
  When doe-eyed firbolg walk across a field, the blades of grass underneath their feet don't seem to crumple. The same goes for every kind of flora. Doe-eyed firbolg are so in tune with the nature they've sworn to protect, they never seem to make any impact on it. Some get annoyed with other races' inability to be as gentle with nature, but most have learned its not their fault.

As a fae-touched, firbolg have a longer lifespan than other mortals. A firbolg reaches adulthood around 30, and are known to live for at least 500 years.

Doe-eyed firbolg are between 6 and 7 feet tall, and weigh between 180 and 240 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Doe-eyed firbolg are faster than other types of firbolg. Your base walking speed is 40 feet.

Batting Lashes

You bat your long, dark eyelashes. You make Charisma checks against others attracted to your gender with advantage.

Firbolg Magic

You can cast Detect Magic and Disguise Self with this trait, using Charisma as your spellcasting ability. Once one of these spells is cast, you can't use that spell again until you finish a long or short rest. When you use this version of Disguise Self, you can seem up to 3 feet shorter, allowing you to more easily blend in among other races.

Light Footed

When on natural terrain (such as grass, moss, leaves, etc.), you leave no footprints. Creatures attempting to track you make their Investigation checks with disadvantage.

Speech of Beast And Leaf

You have to ability to communicate in a limited manner with plants and animals. They can understand the meaning of your words, and while they cannot directly speak back to you, you can sense any powerful feelings in them. You have advantage on any Charisma checks you make to influence them.
