Homebrew Division A Metamorphose: Yuan-Ti Pyromancer Species Details
The Metamorphose are a class of creatures who have transformed into forms that are much like Elementals.
Pyromancers are Yuan-Ti sorcerers who embraced fire to the point of becoming it, some losing the majority of their power, others having their powers warped, and still others not only keep their powers, but have them boosted exponentially. Those who survive the transformation, that is. Once you become a Pyromancer, new opportunities are open to you, but others are lost to you. For example, you will never be able to swim in water again, but you have the ability to "swim" through both flames and lava.
Division A Metamorphose: Yuan-Ti Pyromancer Traits
As a Pyromancer, you gain the following racial traitsBurning Aura
Flammable objects within 5 feet of exposed skin/flame catch on fire unless you succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw. With this same trait, you can decide not to make the saving throw or just not apply it to a certain part of you. You can also let go of the control of your flames. Any creatures within range take 1d6 fire damage. You must make this throw daily or after you decide to let go of control. If you fail the throw, you must wait 1 hour before making it again. To use this aura in battle, you must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution check.
Water Susceptibility.
For every 5 feet you move in 1 foot or deeper water, you take 1d4 cold damage.
Fire Healing and Immunity
You heal 4 hit points from fire spells that deal a maximum damage of 10 or more. You are immune to all other fire damage.
Dynamic Ability Score
Much like fire, you are constantly changing. Because of this constant change, every time you gain a level, you can change where your racial ability score is applied. (+2 to a score of choice and +1 to a score of choice. One must be physical (Con, Str, Dex), the other must be mental (Cha, Wis, Int))
Shining Aura
You shed bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light in a 40-foot radius from any exposed skin/flame.
Flame-Swimmer
You can become one with the flame and travel at a speed of 60 feet through lava and fire. This motion can be either vertical or horizontal, it just has to follow the path of the fire or lava. Your items, gear, and weapons all transform too. You can use this ability to hide in fire, but a closer look will show that the fire is too large for the fuel source. You gain a +2 bonus to stealth checks while hiding in fire.
Walk Speed
Your walk speed is 30 unless the ground is warmer than 150 degrees Fahrenheit. In this case, your walk speed is 45.
Effect of Rain
Light rain has no effect on you and it is evaporated in the same range as your Burning Aura. Medium rain stops you from shedding light and disables your Burning Aura. Heavy rain does the same thing as medium rain and causes you to take 1d6 cold damage for every hour in the rain, the first batch of damage being dealt as soon as the rain becomes heavy rain.
Languages Known
Because of your new elemental form and your past as a Yuan-Ti, you know the following languages:
Primordial, Yuan-Ti, Common
