Homebrew Canid Species Details

A race reminiscent of Werewolves, but more similar in function to Tabaxi. They are wolf- or dog-like in appearance, like a Werewolf, but are permanently/naturally in this form, while being a (highly) intelligent being (unlike their primitive cousins, the Tabaxi). They have five digits on each hand with vestigial small claws, stand upright on two legs supported by large hind paws that function more like human feet, and usually have vestigial tail of irrelevant length. Their snout appears more animal like, but actually is evolved to output and maintain complex speech, more so than a human's. They are able to speak with clear fluency some languages that require uncommon sounds and even the more alien ones.

Canid Traits

Canids bodies are evolved to handle the elements and thrive. As a whole species, they survived the most hostile conditions on the planet through physical and mental fortitude. While they have lost the Burst Speed of their ancestors, their evolution granted them a permanent increase in Speed to all their movement.

Ability Score Increase

Canids have weathered the most hostile conditions on the planet and not just survive, they thrive. This was never more evident than in their powerfully built bodies and keen mental faculties. As they continue to mature, Canids become stronger either mentally or physically, in addition to class increases.
