Although completely colorblind, seeing the world in shades of grey, which they refer to as either "hot" or "not-hot" depending on brightness; a lifetime spent in underground cave systems has granted the Axolarians incredible vision in the darkness. You have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 120 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light.

Lore Hoarder. The Axolarian tradition of word of mouth storytelling grants you proficiency in the History skill as well as one other skill of your choice.

Regeneration. When you take a short or long rest, you regain hit points equal to the maximum roll on one of your hit dice. This does not spend any of your hit dice.

Additionally, you may spend one of your hit dice to regenerate HP as the main action, even while in combat. Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you complete a long rest.

When you take a long rest you may regenerate any severed body parts (fingers, legs, tails, and so on) or scar tissue you may have suffered. This does not cure diseases, poisons, mental ailments or the exhaustion caused due to your Water Dependency, however.

Sunlight Sensitivity. You have a disadvantage on attack rolls and on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight when you, the target of your attack, or whatever you are trying to perceive is in direct sunlight.

Water Dependency. If you fail to immerse yourself in water for at least 1 hour during a day, you suffer one level of exhaustion at the end of that day. You can only recover from this exhaustion through magic or by immersing yourself in water for at least 1 hour.

Languages. You can speak, and read common and write Common and Aquan.
