Homebrew Caneintaur Species Details
The Biggest mistake any traveler can make is thinking that this creature is as docile as their centaur cousins. Caneintaurs travel in deadly packs, be it grassland or forest, plains or arctic tundra, anywhere the caneintaur hunt, they become the Apex Predator
Supernatural Hunters
Caneintaur have humanoid upper bodies down to the waist, while their heads have a somewhat wolfish countenance and their lower bodies can not be mistaken for anything other than that of a great direwolf, Their hands end in some of the sharpest claws found in nature. their coloring and average size can vary with the regions they call their hunting grounds, with the mountain and forest variety being larger and more muscular with a darker coat of either gray or black to the grasslands and desert breeds being more lithe with a brown or tawny coat.
Affinity for the Hunt
Caneintaurs have a natural affinity for hunting, amongst civilization they may be the most revered for their ability to find their prey, be it enemy soldiers or more lucrative bounties.
Caneintaurs revere nothing more than the continuance of their pack. A newborn litter will always be met with raucous celebrations, adhering to a strict tradition of raising their young to always put the pack first but knowing that a dead wolf is a useless wolf.
Packs and Community
Caneintaurs strongly believe in the circle of life, of the passing of nature, in order to survive they must eat, in order to eat they must kill but they must never take for granted the bounty offered them. Caneintaurs are fiercely loyal to the pack first and foremost, any other allegiances come last when it comes to matters of the pack and any pup who forgets this is driven from the pack to make their way on their own or die alone.
