Homebrew Yuki'onna Species Details
When I first saw her, I didn't know whether to introduce myself or run. Her smile did nothing to settle that conflict.
Yuki'onna are a mysterious, female humanoid race that were merely stories of myth until they recently started descending from their snow-capped caverns.
Physical Description
Yuki-onna are beautiful, alluring, and almost phantom-like in the appeal. They can only be female as their name translates to "Snow Women". Yuki-onna are derived from Japanese lore and myth, but they can be any ethnicity. They usually appear in more regal outfits (most fitting being Kimono) but any traditional wear suits their tastes the most. Their skin is always a pale, almost blue appearance, their eyes a attractive bright blue, their skin is cold to the touch.
Quiet and Calculating
Yuki-onna are oddly a very quiet yet charismatic race. They tend not to speak often but can go from exuding a calming to fearful presence with the slightest change in expression
Subtle but Heavy Emotion
Yuki-onna feel emotions very deeply yet rarely show it with their actions. This is manifested in their skin tone changing from pale white when happy to light blue when angry. Though some have mastered the ability to keep the physical manifestation of their emotions in check.
Embrace the Myth or Change the Perception
As a yuki-onna, you must choose to either embrace the legends and myths that have been told of your people, to show others that the stories are merely that and nothing more, or perhaps there is a side of you that wishes to play both parts. Maybe you appreciate the mystery and not being understood.
Yuki'onna Traits

Your Charisma score increases by 2 and your Wisdom increases by 1.
Age
Yuki-onna all tend to appear about the same age, generally early to mid 20s. Their life expectancy is unknown.
Alignment
They they rarely show emotion, their feelings drive them so there alignment can range from lawful good to chaotic evil.
Size
Yuki-onna have the same range of height and weight as humans.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Icy Embrace
A yuki-onna can channel their emotions towards a creature through an icy embrace. With this embrace you can either heal or damage another creature.
If your feelings are positive towards another creature, you can lay hands on it as an action, healing 1d8 + your Charisma modifier. This healing increases when you hit 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8).
If your feelings are negative towards the creature, you can lay hands on it and it must make a Dexterity saving throw, dealing cold damage equal to 1d8 + your Charisma modifier on a failed save or have as much on a successful save. This damage increases when you hit 5th level (2d8), 11th level 3d8), and 17th level (4d8).
When you use either of these abilites, they cannot be used again until the next dawn.
Mountain Born
You have resistance to cold damage and advantage on saving throws against spells that deal cold damage.
Ice Dancer
As an action, you turn water into ice in a 10 foot radius centered on you. This effect moves with you. It is difficult terrain for everyone except you. This ability lasts for 1 minute and refreshes daily at dawn.
Frost Maiden
You know the ray of frost
cantrip. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for it.When you reach level 3, you learn the armor of agathys and cast it without expending a spell slot. At level 5, you can cast it at 2nd level. At level 9, you can cast it at 3rd level. At level 13, you can cast it at 4th level. At level 17, you can cast it at 5th level.

You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
