Homebrew Tarkatan Species Details
Baraka appears before the human monk named Kung Lao in the living forest, with fire in his eyes and teeth bared in war-bound anger. Kung Lao's bladed hat glistened in the sunlight. "I challenge you in Mortal Kombat," The tarkatan said in his native abbysal language.
"All I understood from that was 'kombat'," Kung Lao responded.
"Then you understand enough!"
With that, The two warriors engage in combat, blades from either side grazed their flesh to the point where they would surely bleed to death.
Kung Lao was then at the alpha tarkatan's mercy and had I not intervened, Baraka would have likely eaten him alive.
"Out of my way" said Baraka, "Elder Gods' mistake!"
"I wish to not challenge you today" I said, "but both of you done enough blood shed right now to evoke the beasts of the woods."
Then with a hideous snarl, the bloodied tarkatan fled knowing of the impending danger. If anything was learned that day, it was the the tarkata are not to be underestimated.
-Lord Raiden, protector of earthrealm
The Tarkatans are blood thirsty brutes who serve in the Netherrealm and Outworld, any strong ruler who takes the throne will have the Tarkatan's loyalty and service. They are born with a full set of large, razor sharp teeth, and have retractable blades come out of their forearms about 3 or 4 feet long. They have a taste for human flesh, but don't need much in a way of food.
They usually behave like wild animals, with most lacking proper intelligence, and have an instinct to attack each other if they feel threatened. If one is powerful and brave enough to rule over them, the Tarkatans will most likely not ask any questions before running off to fulfill their duty.

They can survive a couple days without food but when they're hungry, let's just say you'll know it.

Posted Dec 3, 2023As a longtime player of modern Mortal Kombat I can say that this is a very accurate design for a playable Tarkatan Character and also in accordance with normal game mechanics not being too strong or weak as a playable character. A shootout to the creator, good work dude, altogether I think there's room for improvement though, yet I wouldn't know there to begin

Posted Dec 5, 2023As I made this a very long time ago before I got a lot better at making homebrew, it's definitely up for some reworking and improvements, possibly making more in line with the newer version from MK1 and making it a lineage like Dhampir and Such.
