Homebrew Asalian Species Details

Aquans were born from the union of Tieflings and Tritons over several generations, and are adapted to both sea and land life.

Asalians often have skin that ranges between shades and mixes of blue and green. Their hair grows very slowly, and is often no farther than the shoulders. They usually have short and stout horns, and hair that ranges from white, black, blues, purples, and greens. Their eyes are pupil-less and are of solid colour, similar to their abyssal cousins. They have fins alongside their arms, legs, and feet, that extend and retract upon will, meant for underwater life where walking upright was still commonplace.

As Asalians have moved to the surface, some have decided to continue their underwater diet of raw fish and chewy seaweed, and others have decided to try eating "normal" food, wether it be to fit in or to experience the taste of new and different food. The change in food is difficult, and can often be overwhelming both by taste and texture, often leaving a sour stomach, but can be adjusted to over time.

You can breathe air and water.

Ability Score Increase

Your Intelligence score increases by 1, and your Wisdom score increases by 2.

Age

Tieflings mature at the same rate as humans but live a few years longer.

Alignment

Tieflings might not have an innate tendency toward evil, but many of them end up there. Evil or not, an independent nature inclines many tieflings toward a chaotic alignment.

Size

Tieflings are about the same size and build as humans. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a swimming speed of 30 feet.

Darkvision

Thanks to your infernal heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

You can speak, read, and write Common, Aquan, and Primordial.
