Homebrew Axoltol Species Details
Salamanders stuck in their nymph phase. They have stubby legs and hands, their tails making up half of their body length and providing support for when they need waddle their way onto land. Six feathery gills protrude from the back of their head, three on each side, and look similar to horns from a distance. Usually seen with an adorable face that makes them look a bit derpy, however, some claim that they are more adorable when mad for their habit to try to appear scary.

Axolotl reach maturity at six months and live for an average of 15 years.

Axolotl tend to more chaotic alignments with no preference over good or evil however both sides of the spectrum can be found.

Axolotl are tiny creatures standing about 12 inches and can be slightly shorter or taller then this mark. Your size is Tiny.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30ft.
Children of the River
You have a swim speed of 40 feet and can breath both air and water.
Languages
Axoltol’s can speak in the water in their native tongue known as Bubbles. They also can learn Common. You known Common and Bubbles.
Sunlight Sensitivity
You have disadvantage on attack rolls and Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight when you, the target of the attack, or whatever you are trying to perceive is in direct sunlight.
Precious Face
Your face is simple and cute, making it difficult to instill fear in others. You have disadvantage on Charisma(Intimidate) checks.
Slimy Skin
You must keep your body and gills wet for your survival. If you fail to get yourself wet, through spells, swimming, or even submerging yourself in a puddle or bath after a period of 24 hours you gain a level of exhaustion each day until you die or get wet. These levels can only be fixed by drenching yourself in water.
Superior Dark Vision
Accustomed to dark caves from which you reside in, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 120 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Natural Regeneration
Axolotl can heal themselves to an almost unnatural degree. Up to your proficiency bonus per short or long rest, you may burn a hit dice to heal yourself up to your hit dice roll plus your Constitution modifier.
Additionally, your limbs do regrow after being lost, 1d4 days for fingers or toes, and 1d4 weeks for lost limbs or tails.
