Homebrew Mothfolk Species Details

The Moths are an ancient tribe of bugs learned in the manipulation of Dreams. Like the Snail Shamans, they can sense when their thoughts are intruded upon. The Moths were birthed from the light of the Radiance, a god living outside the physical realm. While they used to worship her, they turned their backs on her when the Pale King arrived in Hallownest. Through their newfound devotion to the Pale King, they eventually forgot the Radiance, which sealed her away. An abandoned place of worship to the Radiance still exists in Hallownest's Crown, far above the Resting Grounds. Under the king's rule, the Moth Tribe were caretakers of the Resting Grounds, tending to graves in this place of remembrance for the Kingdom's departed ones. The Moths are usually a passive species. Markoth and Xero, two of the kings knights, are exceptions to this.

They typically have large eyes and antenna with fur around their neck. their skin colours vary, but usually contain greys or red. Usually the fur around their neck grows to fom a large cloak, under which are their wings.

Mothfolk can sense when their thoughts are being intruded upon, for example, through the detect thoughts spell.

The wisdom ability score increases by 2 and intelligence by 1.

Speed

Your walking and flying speed are 30 feet.

Tribal Magic

You know the Thaumaturgy cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Detect Magic spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the Augury spell onceand regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
