Homebrew Wendigo Species Details
According to the legends, a wendigo is created whenever a humanoid resort to cannibalism. This occurs more often in the bitter snows and ice of the northern regions, though they can be found anywhere there are harsh, stranding conditions. They are typically solitary, though recently cursed wendigos can often recognize a former loved one and sometimes try to force-feed them tainted meat to turn them. Mostly nocturnal and impervious to the cold, wendigos have a voracious appetite for flesh that can never be satisfied, they have very keen senses and can see extremely well in the dark. Classified as large undead and naturally evil, they are strong, agile, and fairly cunning. The Wendigo is tall, humanoid, and gaunt to the point of emaciation, its complexion the ash gray of death, with sharp predatory teeth and claws. Fire is the only thing that can truly kill a wendigo.
