Homebrew Yawlaztal Species Details
Yawlaztal, or Armor Spirits, inhabit armor and use it as their mortal forms. Their names came from the Wyverntongue words for Spirit (Yawla) and Metal (Aztal). Most Yawlaztal are elementals who have given up their elemental powers for an imitation of a mortal form. Other Yawlaztal are ghosts, bound to their armor by some ancient magic. Even rarer are sets of armor that have gained sentience. Whatever their origin, facing one in battle is quite the challenge.
Names
Yawlaztal often take names from the cultures of their origin. Human ghosts from Neverwinter for example, often took human or elven names. Elemental spirits often the names of genasi, while the sentient armors took names from the culture and area they were forged in.

A single unifying trait amongst all Yawlaztal is their ability to pass as ordinary suits of armor. Opening their helmets (If they have them), reveals only an empty space where a head should be. All yawlaztal are physically hollow on the inside, lest they use their inner space to store items.
