Homebrew Tiefbolg Species Details

"Never once has life so wild,
Born a child of hellish guile.
Yet from the fires, born of love,
Spread like peace, you nature's dove." - Poem from Aetherana the Travelling Bard

Strangely enough it is not unheard for a Tiefbolg to greet you with a smiling face, giving a strange calming aura despite their more hellish appearance. Also recall that they have been often mistaken for strange fey, since the creature's horns often conflict with the appearance of it's Firbolg cousins. I doubt even Pumat Sol could have predicted this.

Infernal Bloodline

Tiefbolgs are derived from Firbolg bloodlines, and in the broadest possible sense, they still look like Firbolgs. However, their infernal heritage has left a clear imprint on their appearance. Tiefbolgs have large horns that take any of a variety of shapes: some have curling horns like a ram, others have straight and tall horns like a gazelle’s, and some spiral upward like an antelopes’ horns. They have thick tails with a furry base, four to five feet long, which lash or coil around their legs when they get upset or nervous. Their canine teeth are sharply pointed, and their eyes are in the colours of black, red, white, silver, gold, green, pink or blue. Their skin tones cover the full range of Firbolg colouration, including paler blues and pinks.

Natural Druids

Tiefbolgs have a talent for druidic magic. Their cultural reverence for nature, combined with their strong and insightful minds, makes learning such magic an instinctive part of their development. Almost every Tiefbolg learns a few spells, typically those used to mask their presence, and many go on to master nature magic.

Tiefbolg Names

The name of a Tiefbolg is entirely based on which parent they are raised by.

If raised by their Tiefling parent, Tiefbolgs are often gifted with virtue names in a hope that their child will not see themselves as a curse to the world but a blessing.

Example Virtue Names: Aid, Torment, Fresh, Bliss

If raised by their Firbolg parent, Tiefbolgs often take Elven names as Firbolgs often do by their traditions, as well as taking up the tribal 'home' as a surname. Nicknames are also common amongst Firbolg raised Tiefbolgs.

Example Firbolg first names: Tralar, Omadan, Sharel, Joralei

Example Firbolg tribe names: Oakengrove, Dawnrest, Saltar, Ledri
