Homebrew Zaiyekian Species Details

The Zaiyekian are a colorful, diverse people who sport apelike tails and oftentimes antennae. A Zaiyekian's color often corresponds to their temperament - a blue Zaiyekian may be melancholy or peaceful, a red Zaiyekian may have a fiery temper or be very passionate, a green Zaiyekian may be adventurous or wild, etc. There are farming Zaiyekian and warrior Zaiyekian - the possibilities for a Zaiyekian are boundless!

Zaiyekian are known for their regenerative and absorptive physical compositions. For this reason, the Zaiyekian make formidable warriors, however they are more often than not a peaceful folk. A Zaiyekian is more likely to run, not out of cowardice but out of a desire for peace, even if the Zaiyekian could win the encounter.

The Zaiyekian of Wuxia are known for their farming and cultivation of magic Sensu Beans. Sensu Beans are said to have remarkable regenerative properties - these beans are said to have formed a symbiotic relationship with the Zaiyekian. It is believed that the Zaiyekian's regenerative and absorptive physical compositions are owed to the magic of the Sensu Bean.

Age

Zaiyekian mature quickly, reaching maturity after only 10 years or so. The oldest known Zaiyekian is said to have lived to nearly 500 years of age. 

Alignment

Zaiyekian tend toward neutral or good alignment. They are oftentimes peaceful, however there are many who have made capable warriors.

Size

Zaiyekian usually range from 5 to 7 feet at full height.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Zaiyekian Regeneration

The Zaiyekian may regenerate half of their constitution modifier (min. 1) in hit points as a bonus action on each of their turns.

Zaiyekian Absorption

You may "absorb" a blow because of your Zaiyekian physical composition. Once per round, as a reaction, if you are to take damage, you can reduce the damage by your constitution modifier.
