Homebrew Danian Species Details
Danians are large humanoid bugs that tend to create communities together making a hive that centers on a queen. They are able to communicate to each other using sounds and sending waves through antenna. Danians are build with strong exoskeletons and often resemble ants or mantis, most walk on 4 legs and their upper body stands tall much like a centaur. Coloring for most Danians varies based on the environment the better blend into their surroundings, but looks similar to other Danians of the same tribe.
Danian Traits

Hardened Shell
Due to your exoskeleton and the shape of your body, you are ill-suited to wearing armor. Your body provides ample protection, however; it gives you a base AC of 17 (your Dexterity modifier doesn’t affect this number). You gain no benefit from wearing armor, but if you are using a shield, you can apply the shield’s bonus as normal.
Natural Climber
Like many natural insects you have the ability to move with ease on any natural unworked surface, this includes walls and ceilings.
Hive Mind
With a series of subtle sounds and vibrations of your antenna, all Danians can communicate silently to each other while within 60ft. Likewise if the queen of a hive gives an order it is heard by all Danians of the hive within 10 miles.
Darkvision
Most Danians spend their lives living underground and have incredible darkvision. Your darkvision has a radius of 120 feet.
