Homebrew Draco-Kin Species Details
Whispers of Yuan-Ti and Tiefling followed her down the halls from the guards she passed on her way to her audience with the king, a elven baby in one arm and a sack under the other. When she the entered the throne room the king turned his attention to her.
"Give him to me," He commands. She walks over to him and hands him the three month old prince.
"The hag who took him has been slain," she says as she produces it's head from the second sack. Her claws dug slightly into the severed head of the hag as she presented it for the king. A servant came in and takes the baby from the king as he reaches out to hold the hag head.
From the doorway which through she entered a commotion is heard, She turns her horned head and rests a scaled hand on the hilt of her sword. Three guards come running in swords drawn and surround you.
"Snake, you are under arrest," one of them shouts.
She sighs and readies herself for a fight, One of them swings and she blocks the attack, wrapping her golden scaled tail around their legs and pulling it out from under them. She readies herself as the other two advance and the one knocked down picks himself back up.
Born of stolen dragon eggs corrupted by magic, they walk the world in a body trapped by mortal limitations. Shaped by draconic blood and mortal greed, Draco-Kin are humanoids born from dragon eggs taken by mortals and tainted by magic, they are born halfway between dragon and mortal, They have certain draconic features from their blood and are humanoid from their exposure and sculpting by mortal magic.
Stolen Dragon Egg
Dragonborn look very much like humans with certain draconic features. Draco-Kin have very vibrant scales that match the color of their bloodline, their horns take the same as their draconic bloodlines. Their small scales are usually rather soft, their skin also takes on a slight hue from their bloodline. They are thin but strong, standing around 6 feet tall and weighing 130 pounds, . Their hands are clawed having five clawed fingers and have scales that start on their forearms. Their legs have three clawed toes and a claw on the back of their foot.
Draco-Kin also take on traits of the mortal(s) that shaped them, like pointed ears if they were forged by an elf or shorter and stockier if they were shaped by a dwarf.
Isolated and distrusted
A Draco-Kin usually spend a life isolated from other Draco-Kin, they are usually loyal only to themselves and their subordinates, If they do manage to meet another Draco-Kin they will either fight to the death or work together. Draco-Kin keep the same tenacity and intelligence of their draconic parents and they also have similar personality traits. They don't have an obsession with hoarding wealth while still enjoying collecting it but instead have a deep desire to learn and amass magic and power.
A continual drive for power, wealth, and knowledge stems from a deep desire to become true dragons again instead of the amalgamation of dragon and mortal. Draco-Kin born from Draco-Kin parents amass power, wealth, and knowledge to better protect what they own and to get more. Draco-Kin are distrusted for their resemblance to a mix between Tieflings and Yuan-ti Purebloods.
Though all Draco-Kin tend to start their lives in servitude, few remain in that state for long, either talking their way out, partaking in a contract, or killing the mortals that were foolish enough to create them. This also leads them to be deeply distrusted by mortals and leads them to, if there are enough of them, to live in small isolated villages where they welcome newcomers of any race but are extremely cautious and will remember slights against them and what they consider to be theirs.
