History of the Folf
No one really knows where they came from, but the legends have it that the Shifter created them as they were losing a terrible war the church of the silver flame led an inquisition to wipe out all lycanthropes, and Shifters got caught up in it. The inquisition lasted five years, killing most lycanthropes And so the Shifter started experimenting with all kinds of races of those who had been imprisoned due to terrible crimes they did so they combined both magic and science. And as the enemy overran the land the experiments defeated them, but they escaped
They fled North, far North, until they reached a dark forest where they stayed and hid. Since then the forest has been told to be cursed,
But this was many cycles ago, now they live in a peaceful village. With time they learned to craft, building their own homes and weapons.
They are a fiercely loyal race especially towards those they consider friends but they will also show their enemies the same kind of ferocity. Those of the Wolf family becoming rangers and barbarians while those of the Fox family tending towards being cunning rogues. In general, the race is skilled as fighters.
Personality
They are usually gifted with exceptional intelligence and strength and enjoy applying their intellect towards works of artisanship, however nowhere near to that of the skill of the dwarves.
But being gifted with both mental and physical strength has made them prideful, a fact that can work both for and against them. They also are overly trusting and loyal to a fault. Food likewise is one of their greatest weaknesses, a cunning rogue with a large piece of meat will find it easy to steal something from them, at their own peril of course.
Physical Description
The Folf stand at 4.5-6.5ft tall and are usually of a muscular build. Their hands have a rough on the palms and fingers where callouses would normally form for other humanoid races. Their paws are similar to their hands clad with fur and sole padding which protects them from the harsh terrain of the wood, making boots unnecessary.
Their coloration can range from that of the wolf, fox, or some breed of dog. From grey to white to an orange-red hue, but will always have a little of both in their coloration.
Their claws are formidable and obvious to anyone near the Folf due to their bone-white color.
The males are larger than the females but do not be fooled, the females sport the same ferocity as the males. Maybe even more so, if one were to threaten their pack.
Relations
The Folf's often got on with the majority of other races, though not all will accept them. There are those who view them with suspicion due to their misunderstood origins and those who know of their origins see them at times as being ”unnatural” creatures.
Alignment
The Folf's are Neutral by nature and like humans are tinted by their surroundings and adaptability.
Languages
The Folf's can speak and write Common, Folf and due to their intellect can choose one other language.
Age
A Folf has lifespans equivalent to humans.
