Homebrew Cervitaur Species Details

Cervitaurs have a reputation for keeping to themselves, they often stay deep in the woods and travel in herds to ward off any would-be predators such as orcs. Not many wander into the bustling towns or cities, not only because they are typically quite shy creatures, but because their build makes it difficult to get around in places built for humanoids.

Cervitaurs are deeply in tune with emotions, their own and others, so they can often tell when something is wrong and will do as much as they can to fix it.

They believe that life is very precious and must be protected at all costs, even if that life is their enemy's.

Nature Born

Cervitaurs are a mix of chaotic humanoid and docile, peaceful animal. Many humanoids grow and change, but Cervitaurs prefer to embrace their docility and their ties to nature. They are often disgusted by the things humanoids to to the land, but take no action to stop it. They care about letting life prosper and believe in peace.

Peaceful to a Fault

Most Cervitaurs believe in peaceful inaction. They prefer to spend their days grazing and traveling through the deep woods, discovering new places they hadn't seen before. Even when attacked, they prefer to flee from combat rather than fight for themselves. Much of the land that once belonged to the Cervitaurs was taken from them by humanoids taking advantage of their peaceful nature.

The Next Generation

The newest generation of Cervitaurs are tired of being walked on, tired of being peaceful and tired of letting the humanoids run them off their land. Many of them have formed new herds to try and take back the land that was once theirs. They use their knowledge of the complicated terrain to gain the upper hand, they fight dirty and inspire chaos wherever they go. They are bringing change to the Cervitaurs, whether the elders like it or not.
