Homebrew Deva Species Details
Devas are immortal celestials sent as an agent of the gods and given humanoid form. They are born in fully-formed adult bodies. Devas are imposing figures, built like tall humans, but with purple or blue skin, white eyes, and unearthly grace. When a deva dies, its soul travels the astral plane for 100 years before being reincarnated in another adult deva body. After reincarnation, a deva recalls vague memories of a past lifetime, allowing it to draw from past experiences to give itself an edge. Though devas are typically good, a particular lifetime might drive a deva toward evil. When a non-good deva is reincarnated, its body develops thick black or white lined patterns. If the deva turns permanently to evil, it will be reincarnated as a rakshasa.
Deva Traits
Devas' many lifetimes grant them special abilities. As a deva, you have the following racial traits.Ability Score Increase
Your Intelligence score increases by 1, and your Wisdom score increases by 2.
Age
Devas are born in adult bodies and have an immortal life span. They do not die of old age, but can be killed by disease or wounds.
Alignment
Most devas tend toward good alignment. They may have been first made that way, and now lifetime after lifetime has taught them that being virtuous to others has its own reward. Many devas are also lawful. They follow their own codes of conduct so they don’t slip into a wicked life and become reborn as a rakshasa.
Size
Devas range from 6 to 6-1/2 feet tall and weigh as much as humans do. Your size is Medium.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Astral Resistance
You have resistance to necrotic and radiant damage.
Memory of a Thousand Lifetimes

You have proficiency in the History and Religion skills.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and Celestial.

Posted Mar 18, 2019I just got here to tell you what kind of bs it is to make a Deva a race, that seems to be on the same power level as their less weaker offspring, the Aasimars.
Devas are mighty celestial creatures - are they different in your homeworld?

Posted Mar 20, 2019@mpathy This race is based on the 4th Edition player character race called Deva. They were angels in earlier editions, then they were mortal celestials, and now they're angels again. Don't blame me for the change. Take it up with WOTC. It just happens the 4th edition version was my favorite player character race, so I made a 5th edition conversion.

Posted May 28, 2019So my sister is playing DnD for the first time this is the race she wanted. We’re doing a custom feat for cause she wanted to basically play a angel so the feat is called angel wings and is I direct translation of dragon wings for Dragonborn along with archangel wings which just doubles the movement.

Posted Oct 25, 2019The Memory of a Thousand Lifetimes ability seems a little over the top, I'm not sure how others feels but it's pretty much the lucky racial trait of halflings. Personally I like the idea of a long rest before getting MoaTL to be useful again for a player. But overall thanks for adding this race to dnd beyond.

Posted Mar 19, 2021Is this any chance you will add a feature to the race that will allow individuals to change the ability scores around like the other races do?
