Homebrew Chwinga Species Details
General Description
Chwingas stood 0.5‒1.0 ft (15‒30 cm) tall, resembling small animated dolls with masks for faces. No chwinga masks were alike, and they often took the form of animal faces. Their hair was wild and unkempt while their limbs were slender and lean. -forgottenrealms.fandom.com
Personality
Incredibly shy in most aspects of their lives, chwingas were naturally curious and fascinated by humanoids, whose signs of civilization were alien to Chwingas. Beings that wore armor, carried weapons, cooked food, and used tools were of great interest to them. Those that piqued a Chwinga's interest enough could find themselves tailed by the diminutive elementals and given minor magical boons. Unfortunately that'd be broken for a playable character, so these Chwinga can't do that. The features that drew Chwinga to individuals seemed completely arbitrary, ranging from height and hairstyle to artistic talent or other strange abilities. -forgottenrealms.fandom.com
Age
Chwinga reach ""adulthood" at 18, but only in the sense of maturity. They don't really ever increase in size and even then, their maturity is still comparative to that of a young teen at best, unless something particularly personality-altering happens in their life. They also can technically live forever, but they gain little to no benefit from being older than, say 100.
Families & How they come to be
It's weird. Chwinga, since they're elementals, they can just pop into existence. How and where it happens seems to be random and if it happens to a Chwinga, they just sort of poof into existence asleep, and wake up an hour or so later. They can also be birthed into existence by other Chwinga. Kind of. In order to do so there must be 2 willing Chwinga (their gender doesn't really matter) and a sculpture of a Chwinga that can't have come from a dead Chwinga. That'd be weird. In order to make said statue they must spend several days and nights working on an (at least) 40 cm stone, converting it into a Chwinga sculpture, sculpting every single small detail, blemish and strand of hair. Once the statue is finished the 2 Chwinga must wait until a strong breeze is blowing in the area. Then they must dig a ring encircling the statue and fill it water, then gather enough twigs to encircle the statue by making a ring then light them on fire. After that, they use a considerable amount of magic to bring the statue into existence.

Natural Shelter
The chwinga magically takes shelter inside a rock, a living plant, or a natural source of fresh water in its space. The chwinga can't be targeted by any attack, spell, or other effect while inside this shelter, and the shelter doesn't impair the chwinga's blindsight. The chwinga can use it's action to emerge from a shelter. If its shelter is destroyed, the chwinga is forced out and appears in the shelter's space, but is otherwise unharmed.
