Homebrew Wendigo Species Details

The Wendigo is a possessed being. Corrupted by greed or gluttony, they must fuel themselves with the flesh of humans; ones just like their past selves. As the years go by, and they continue their unruly ways, they slowly grow bigger and less human.

With an antlered bony face, long arms like an orangutan, with sharp claws at the end, a skinny, bloodied, humanoid body, and their musky, thick furs they are a real fright. They have an aura of coldness, and a stench of decomposition.

Some say they are becoming one with nature, and following primal instincts, letting blood lust take over as they feed and morph into such a beast. This has sparked some interest among others, leading to the illegal pet trade of Wendigos.

They are commonly found in the cold Northern areas, but have been found in the Central/South areas, preying on all the new-found resource. Being so used to the cold, they have seemed to grow immune to it, and even have a cold feeling to the touch. Some think Wendigo's blood could be used for freezing potion, but that has yet to be confirmed.

Many bring reference to the Wendigo when famine strikes, when people must resort to such things as cannibalism, or  unexplainable outbursts of violence. Like mentioned before, people want to get the corpse of a Wendigo for medical remedies. They believe by using this creature's essence, they can heal others from their over-access or mental illness.Though this has been speculated on for millennia, as some believe abusing the Wendigo's corpse will bring the bad spirit to the abusers.
