Homebrew Ae'Lin Species Details
In truth the Ae'lin are not just one people, over the ages the original Ae'lin race has split into at least two main factions that have been apart for so long, they can't be said to be quite the same race anymore. They do still have somewhat strained, but favorable relations to each other, and war between them is something of the past. There has not been an all out war between them for at least a thousand years.
The Ae'Lin are bipedal humanoids that look very much like humans, although their features are often more slanted, and their ears are tipped. If an Elf and an Ae'Lin ever met, they would probably agree that they look pretty similar to each other.
Ae'Lin Traits
Both Ae'lin folks have the following traits in common.Age
The Ae'lin are incredibly long lived. There is a saying that encapsules this well "Death only violent". Ae'lin seem to stop aging when they reach adulthood, and could probably in theory live forever. Of course, over a long life, violent encounters, accidents and the like becomes extremely likely, so even the oldest living Ae'lin are usually not above the age of a couple thousand years old.
Immunities and Resistance
All Ae'lin are immune to natural diseases, though they can be afflicted by magical ones, like mummy rot.
Ae'lin are resistant to poison damage and to the poisoned effect.
Alignment
The Ae'Lin are in private a freedom loving people. They value art and music, as much as they value skills for survival and battle. When their borders or people are threatened, they are very disciplined and follow their leaders to the death if necessary. They are not expansionists, but they will protect their lands with deadly force and without hesitation or pity. Most Ae'Lin fall inside the nautral alignment, lawful to their leaders in crisis, but chaotic in nature when possible. They have great compassion for their own people, but they will not feel any qualms about killing a human child that crosses their borders, for example. The Kibitin usually falls more on the chaotic neutral side, while the Koshic more often fall on the lawful neutral side.
