Homebrew Augmented Species Details

Augmented are individuals who have been ultra-enhanced in one single area, much to the detriment of all other areas. People will seek out a skilled artificer and pay top coinage in order to gain supernatural strength, agility, intellect, etc.

However, they don't realize that balance is a key part of survival, and as such, in order for the individual's body to handle such power, other areas would have to be weakened greatly. For example, a warrior given the strength of a Frost Giant will end up with the charismatic wit of an ooze in order to compensate. 

Augmented Traits

Mechanical body parts moved by clockwork is the most stereotypical appearance of the Augmented, however, their appearance has quite the variation. Some have detailed runes all over their bodies, while other's have ethereal body parts instead

Augmented Attributes

Due to the enhancements done to your body, you have both Supernatural and Sub-natural capabilities. Instead of the normal 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 Stat array, you instead have a more skewed stat array of 25, 20, 9, 8, 8, 4. The top 2 Attributes will determine how your bodies appearance changes.

  • Strength: Torso and Arms
  • Dexterity: Legs and Hands
  • Constitution: Internal Organs
  • Intelligence: Logical portions of the brain
  • Wisdom: Eyes and the Instinctual portion of the brain
  • Charisma: Facial Structure* and the Social portion of the brain

*this doesn't necessarily have a legitimate effect, as this specifically has a placebo effect instead. 

 

This race cannot have stat increases from Ability Stat Increases (ASIs), or Feats, however, they can still take feats (cutting out any ASIs that would be tied to that feat of course) 

Origin

Before you were Augmented, you were something else. You may pick 2 proficiencies of any kind (excluding skills), for example, chef's utensils and greatsword, as well as the language of the race that raised you. You can read, speak, and write this language, as well as Common.
